Following a nice meetup with some comics people, I went back to using brush and ink a bit today, this being the result:
I drew the characters with a Pilot V Signpen (as recommended by M. Vandenhoven), scanned and printed the line art, then inked the shading over the top of the printout.
New version of the Ackersley test includes profile run.
