Events Performance The Precinct August 10, 2009 by David

The Precinct: live on stage

A couple weeks ago we put on what we called a “VERY SPECIAL THEATRICAL EVENT” for a small audience at Glitch. What this turned out to be was a live reading of one of our Precinct scripts — “Episode 6: Last Drinks”, otherwise known as “the ’80s flashback episode”, in which a young Sarge, Sandhurst …

Precinct ep 06: Blam!

I stopped working on the animatic for the John Farnham episode because I’m doing something special this weekend: myself, Adam and two of our Precinct voice-maestros, Thomas Pullar and Adrian Calear, are going to perform a reading of the episode 6 script for a select audience at a secret location. SO MYSTERIOUS We’ll be assisted …

Me, on the radio

As I’m featured in the very nice Superheroes & Schlemiels exhibition currently at the Jewish Museum here in Melbourne, they’ve kindly given me the opportunity to appear on ABC 774 this Sunday with the Museum’s Helen Light to talk about… comic books and Jews, probably. We’ll be on around 10:30am, speaking with Alan Brough, which …

Comic Book Funny: recap

We did another four sessions of COMIC BOOK FUNNY. In week one, Jo Waite, Sarah Howell and our audience enjoyed a bit of low key chat, tea and cucumber sandwiches while they drew pictures of sexy comics men Neale Blanden, Pat Grant and David Blumenstein (me). Photo by Peter Jetnikoff In week two, our very …

Be there if you can, Gerard’s coming all the …

David Blumenstein

I’m a service designer, cartoonist and co-founder of Squishface Studio. I’ve done comics for The Guardian, Crikey and Australian MAD. Currently also deputy president of the Australian Cartoonists Association.

I usually write about things that shit me off, from bad workplaces (The Bret Braddock Adventures) to pick-up artists (#takedown) to white supremacist trolls (The Internet’s Most Trolled Cartoonist).

I’m working on graphic novels called Sciensatics (about cultists) and Free Money, Please (about wealth and passive income).
