I'm very excited about this. We're testing out the script of a brand new graphic novel, live on stage! Join a crew of incredible actors and comedians for chapter one of Cryer!

Drawing of a large bearded man asking, "Whose be this chicken-fowl?"

The story

The year is 1614, and London gets its news from a family of town criers: the Cryers! Each generation of Cryers is louder than the last, producing unearthly screams heard "From The Square To The Spittle-fields".

Their star is John Cryer – "The Name For Newes One Knowes"! His son, Jonathan Cryer, is a foppish “hunk”: all show, no substance.

Drawing of a handsome chubby man with a dazzling smile, saying "A good poultrie-heist is once a month, if you're lucky!"

Enter Scottish upstart Rupert Murdoch, disrupting their industry with a technology called "newes-papers"!

When his papers begin attacking the Cryers directly -- "They are witches, in league with the Spanish, the Pope and the Devil!" -- John vanishes.

Jonathan is left at the mercy of their audience, their sponsors and the cut-throat court of King James.

Can even the two loudest voices in England be heard through the grotesque noise generated by Rupert Murdoch?

Cryer! is written by award-winning comics guy David Blumenstein and drawn by animation phenom Sayeef Mahmud!

Cryer! Chapter One! stars Jack Braddy, Christopher Kirby, Katrina Mathers, Geoff Paine, Ingrid Elkner and Ezra Bix!

Expect supernatural historical comedy, swearing and boobs (described only).
