Welcome to the new Nakedfella Productions blog.
I, David Blumenstein, cartoonist, animator and social butterfly, did not start a blog until now because:
- my non-dynamically generated website is perfectly good for updating people on things
- Blogs are for people who say “lol” and “wtf” in conversation
- Blogs are for people who think strangers need to know what colour their new curtains are
- I am a frightened little bunny hiding in my tiny hole, desperately hoping change will pass me by like the setting sun, sadly unwilling to realise that change, like the sun, is inevitable and constant
- Why should I
But I’m doing it now because I feel people need to know about the best animated cartoon show that has ever been made in Australia. My animated cartoon show:
THE PRECINCT.
True, it hasn’t been made yet, but I can tell you now that it’ll be explosive toony fun: a cartoon made for people, like myself, who understand what makes Tango & Cash, Law & Order, The Shield, Police Academy 1 thru 6, Crime Busters, Narc and Blue Murder so good. People who’ll watch anything that involves “a pair of mismatched cops”. People who love to see a suspect try to climb a chainlink fence.
The Precinct is currently in its “development” phase, which means it lives chiefly in my head (for more about who I might be, check the main site or the “About Nakedfella Productions” link at right). At this point, the show has a Director (m’self), Animator/s, Voices and Music. It still needs a Producer, a couple more Voices and a small-to-medium pile of Money before “production” can begin.
Nevertheless, the animatic (rough) of the pilot episode is progressing and will be spammed upon Australia’s quietly shivering film/tv industry shortly.
I’ll post more about the show and the characters later, but for now, meet officer Ben Ackersley:
Pictures: louder than words!
