# The Bolt Response

Remember my little brother Tristian? [He wrote a great report for his Media class](https://cdn.synaps.media/nakedfella/content/files/2026/10/the-bolt-report-3.html?ref=nakedfella.com) about how [conservative columnist Andrew Bolt's TV show](http://www.news.com.au/video/id-Y0cGlvZDowvmqYzA6BD3T2UAk1bbDtc7/BOLT-VS-RUDD-PART-ONE?ref=nakedfella.com) works.

What happened next was that I entered Tristian's report in the Lord Mayor's Creative Writing Awards, and [it won in the Graphic Short Story category](http://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/MelbourneLibraryService/Pages/Creativewritingawards2013.aspx?ref=nakedfella.com)!

Mr. Bolt then found out about this, and [used it to beat up on the Lord Mayor a bit](http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/how%5Fto%5Fwin%5F1000%5Ffrom%5Fa%5Fliberal%5Flord%5Fmayor%5Fand%5Fmake%5Fmelbourne%5Fa%5Fcity%5Fof%5Flite/?ref=nakedfella.com). His loyal commenters [weren't very nice, either](https://cdn.synaps.media/nakedfella/content/files/2026/10/the-bolt-comments.html?ref=nakedfella.com), and kind of missed the point.

I asked Tristian if he had a response to all this, and this is what he gave me:
