Checked out @momomelb. Marketer for Defence Dept explained that they use “cool” free games to sucker 18-25s into enlistment. “cool”. #

Precinct Cop Action Survey winners!

Five very helpful people who helped me and The Precinct out by filling in our Cop Action Survey will now be receiving an original Precinct drawing by me.
I won’t announce who they are, but I now have to draw Precinct characters:

in a shower scene, with rude bits obscured by “PG steam”
“in space”
beating someone in [...]

Amazing games

While we’ve been working on our cross-platform strategy for The Precinct, I’ve been directed to some fantastic online games from which we’re taking inspiration. Here they are:

http://windosill.com/
Windosill is incredible. You must play it, and you must pay $3 for the full version. It has so much style and personality. It’s as close to a religious [...]

Proof things are moving along

Here’s the current version of my Farnsy-themed animatic!

-=0.0.0=-
I (and our growing team) just spent a few weeks working on an application to Film Victoria’s Digital Media Prototyping fund. It’s 80 pages long. You could injure someone with it if you swung it at their head. I would never do such [...]

Rooms full of people with big brains

Going along to these MEGA sessions and listening to the smart people talk about interesting things reminds me of two other slightly similar gatherings. One I’ve actually been to, and one I’ve just seen bits of on the web.
The one I’ve seen bits of on the web is called TED. Rebecca Clements put me onto [...]

Hello, MEGAteers

Woody The Producer and I have been accepted into the MEGA program. This is how they (eloquently) describe themselves:
MEGA is an Entrepreneurship Masterclass series which takes participants from the mobile, digital content and ICT industries through an industry-driven development program to build their creative, technical and business skills for the development of new products and [...]

Anti-Procrasto Week

This week is a big week: it’s ANTI-PROCRASTO WEEK.

My workload lightens up a bit this week so I’m setting myself some tasks to take care of, the stuff that gets pushed back when I’m being paid to draw talking penises or animate moustache demons.

1. Precinct scripts
We now have three scripts at complete first draft stage, [...]

Engage!

Lately I’ve been hearing two concepts that disturb me. They’re related.
One is that artists in the very exciting 21st century need to “engage”* with their audiences using various Web 2.0 methodologies and mass marketing principles. It’s not enough to make something, you have to Facebook it. You have to expose yourself.
The other thing, more disturbing [...]

“The Precinct? Next week.”

The title references my interior monologue when I consider what I should post about. I’ve been putting off talking much about the show because there’s always lots of small developments happening but rarely anything real big and awesome to talk about.
You can imagine it’s got to be tougher than ever to get an animated series [...]
